The follow-up to a hit action game from 2012. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a production of an independent studio Dennaton Games, the developer duo of Jonathan “Cactus” Söderström and Dennis Wedin. The player controls a bandit, who, provided there is a payoff, undertakes a number of risky jobs. Depending on the mission conditions, the hero can be either forced to avoid a direct confrontation, or brutally eliminate all enemies. The latter task will be achieved with weapons, and various elements of the environment. Similarly to the predecessor, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is marked by a simple retro 2D graphics. Due to the large dose of violence, the game is intended only for adult players.

He can use some of the yarn he is made of to create a bridge or catch a fish and use it to cross a river. The game features impressive, fully 3D graphics, although presented in 2.5D perspective, resembling LittleBigPlanet.

An action RPG set in dark fantasy world, developed by SolarFall Games and focusing on freedom of gameplay and character development. We play as a former officer of the corrupt Human Republic, who has developed magical powers; in a country were mutations are punished by death. Running away from certain demise, the hero ends up in the ranks of mysterious Templars, where he must discover the truth about his dark secret, which can lead to the end of humanity. The gameplay draws on classic hack’n’slash titles, though developers implemented some of their original innovations to enrich the game. One of them is the incredibly complex crafting system, providing the player with nearly complete liberty when making equipment and weaponry. Character development is equally unusual – the game’s heroes don’t learn a predefined set of skills from the start, but their bodies mutate depending on one’s play style.

Another spin-off to the legendary series of sandbox action games, developed by Rockstar Games for the PlayStation Portable console. As the title of the game suggests, its action is related to GTA: Vice City. The title takes place in 1984, two years before the events shown in the other game. The main protagonist is Victor Vance – an ex-soldier who currently works for various gangsters. By completing various jobs given to him by mafia bosses he slowly rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld. The gameplay isn’t very different from other installments of the series. However the developers added many new features such as the ability to swim, fly a helicopter or enter buildings. This made the game mechanics even more similar to the mechanics of full-fledged installments in the series. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories offers a large number of weapons and gadgets as well as a varied soundtrack that accompanies the player while driving cars.

Obduction, created as a Myst’s spiritual successor, tells a story of a man who finds a bizarre organic artifact that fell from the sky and is taken by it into a strange world. In the game, our task is to figure out where are we, and then find a way back home. Similarly to the aforementioned Myst series, the key element of the gameplay is gradual uncovering of the game world and its laws and then using this knowledge to overcome the obstacles we encounter. Therefore, the game focuses mainly on exploration and solving subsequent logic puzzles of various difficulty level. The game does not offer any cutscenes, and most of its story is learned by means of exploration, environment analysis, and reading journals we find throughout the world.

A direct sequel to the futuristic first person shooter released on PlayStation 2, created by Guerilla Games as an answer to the successful, and mostly Xbox exclusive, Halo series. Killzone 2 takes place on the home planet of Helghan, two years after the events shown in the first game in the series. This time, the player becomes a completely new character – Sergeant Tomas “Sev” Sevchenko – and is tasked with a counterattack against the enemy Helghan faction and capturing their leader, Visari, so he can be brought to justice. As the game debuts on next generation of consoles, the sequel offers great improvement in terms of visual quality, fully destructible environment, dynamically changing weather conditions and improved artificial intelligence – both of enemies and our allies on the battlefield. In comparison to the first Killzone, the number of available weapon types is larger and new vehicles were added.

A spin-off to the bestselling Grand Theft Auto series, at first developed for Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable handhelds and later converted to mobile devices as well. The story takes place in Liberty City, a place well known to the fans of the series. As Huang Lee, member of a Chinese criminal group, the player is trying to prove his worth, avenge the death of his father, and reclaim a valuable sword that for centuries was the symbol of his family’s power. The gameplay mechanics are similar to previous installments in the series, except for the missions being slightly shorter and the fact that the player can repeat failed actions. Other important changes include an auto-aim system, simplified driving mechanics, and the necessity of destroying police cars. A new interface and various mini-games were added to the game as well. The graphics of the game utilize cel-shading technology, combining the classic top-down view and isometric perspective.

A multiplayer World War II first-person shooter. The game is a debut project of an Australian studio Black Matter. Hell Let Loose takes place during the World War II and the player can participate in the Battle of Stalingrad, operation Overlord, Guadalcanal Campaign and other theaters. The player can fight alongside the Allies or the Axis. The game focuses on presenting the war in a realistic way. The battles are played on vast maps based on archives. The gameplay focuses on battles fought between two teams consisting of 50 people. The teams are divided into smaller platoons and the soldiers are tasked with taking over and holding specific sectors while also maintaining supply lines. Commanders are controlling the situation on the battlefield and the key to success lies in cooperation of team members and in coordination of actions. The soldiers can use more than a dozen of varied weapons. They can also use vehicles and call in air strikes.

A remastered edition of a classic adventure game created by LucasArts in 1993. That game, along with its sequel, Maniac Mansion, became famous as the grandfather of modern adventure games. The Remastered Edition was prepared by Double Fine Productions, a studio founded by Tim Schafer – one of the co-creators of the original hit. In the game you play as a trio of heroes who are trying to save the world from a threat posed by the titular tentacle. After coming into contact with an unknown substance it acquired consciousness and high intelligence. The only salvation seems to be traveling back in time in order to prevent the tentacle from being born. However, after the time machine malfunctions, the situation gets more complicated, as the heroes get trapped in three different historical periods. The creators made sure that the new edition was faithful to the original ideas, offering as much absurd humor as the original and the unique 2D visuals that are reminiscent of classic cartoons by Warner Bros.

The third full-fledged installment in a series of popular fighting games developed by Cyberconnect 2 and focusing on the adventures of a bright-haired ninja warrior by the name of Naruto. Once again, the game was based on two main modes - classic 1 on 1 battles taking place on wide 3D arenas, and the story mode which allows the player to explore this popular universe freely and take part in the greatest battles depicted first in the original manga series (until the Nine-Tails invades the Hidden Leaf Village). As usual, the game includes most of the characters the fans of the series are familiar with. Each of the in-game fighters has their own unique fighting style and a set of spectacular special abilities. All of this is complemented by (what is typical for this franchise) cel-shaded graphics that successfully recreate the art style of Japanese animation. As a result, the visual impressions resemble watching another episode of one's favorite anime series.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is the first expansion pack for the best-selling action RPG game, Diablo III. The add-on created by the Blizzard Entertainment’s development team has added a fifth act to the main campaign, in which Malthael, the Angel of Death, is determined to put an end to the war between celestial beings and demons; the Black Stone binding Diablo’s soul is supposed to help him achieve this goal. The expansion also introduces a new playable character – Crusader – and raises the limit of character’s experience level to 70. In addition, the creators decided to modify the loot system; now we find it less often, but it is more valuable and better suited to a particular hero. Some changes have also been introduced to the visuals, making them much darker than in the original version of the game.

The story of Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening takes place before the events shown in the first installment of the series. It reveals more details about Dante’s past and motivations. The gameplay mechanics return to the roots of the series while adding an innovative feature – the possibility to choose a combat style, slightly altering Dante's abilities. Depending on personal preferences, the style can emphasize powerful melee attacks (Swordmaster), defense & counterattacks (Royal Guard), firearms (Gunslinger), or mobility (Trickster). Other gameplay elements remain the same – the player will face numerous opponents at once and participate in dynamic action sequences while accompanied by a heavy metal soundtrack.

A spin-off to the iconic Grand Theft Auto series. The game was first developed for the PlayStation Portable handheld console. The story of Liberty City Stories takes place a few years before the events shown in GTA3, on the streets of the same metropolis. During the game player becomes Tony Cipriani who after coming to the city is caught up in the dirt of corruption, mafia wars, and drug traffic. The objective of the game is to work for the Leone mafia family, increase its influences and build up Tony’s reputation in the criminal underworld. The gameplay of GTA: Liberty City Stories employs the well-received mechanics of the series and offers an open world filled with story missions and side activities alike. As always in the series, there are many vehicles (including motorcycles, motorboats, trains and ferries) and weapons to use. However, due to the limitations of the PSP console, some things were slightly simplified.

A continuation to the well-received spin-off of the Dragon Quest series. The player again assumes the role of a hero gifted with the power of creation - their task will be to face the forces of darkness. Compared to its predecessor, the game introduces a series of changes, improvements and completely new concepts - above all, one can swim or glide in mid-air, fill cavities or player-made pools with water, and place three times more blocks on top of one another while constructing. What is also worth noticing, is the multiplayer mode, which allows up to three other players to join one's game.

A two-dimensional adventure game with platformer features from the independent Polish team at Juggler Games. It takes players to a fictional city ruled by the Evil King and his army of robots. Certain districts have been separated from others by a high wall, and this ghetto is used to contain the so called “worse part of society”. The players take control of two kids trying to survive in the cruel new reality. My Memory Of Us uses side-view camera angle to present the world, and the controlled duo must support each other to overcome all obstacles and solve all puzzles. One of the game’s selling points is a simplified dialogue system based on symbols, as well as its setting being inspired by actual life in Poland under German occupation during World War II, especially inside Jewish ghettos. It also stands out with the monochromatic colors of its visuals.

A dark, first-person adventure game developed by The Astronauts - a Polish team led by Adrian Chmielarz, the co-founder of People Can Fly. The player is put in the shoes of Paul Prospero - a detective who has developed certain paranormal abilities. The protagonist tries to solve the mystery behind the vanishing of a young boy. The player traverses an extensive, open world - the game is non-linear and the player is free to explore and look for subsequent clues. The game offers many unique mechanics related to making links between different pieces of the puzzle. Walking around the grim areas of Red Creek Valley, the protagonist makes use of his extraordinary abilities, making contact with the dead, experiencing various visions and visiting alternative realities. Utilizing the Unreal Engine 3, the game stands out with its high-quality visuals supported by technologies allowing to convert photographs of real-existing places into digital pictures.

The fifth entry in a popular jRPG series and a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, started in 1987. As always, the developing studio is Atlus, which created the series. The plot of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5 revolves around the theme of seven cardinal sins and puts us in the role of an ordinary high school student, who discovers supernatural powers in himself. The protagonist lead a normal teenager’s life during the day, solving typical school problems and interacting with schoolmates, while at night he turns into a superhero, engaging in a deadly fight against evil. In terms of game mechanics, the production follows in its predecessors' footsteps, combining features of classic jRPG games and their turn-based combat with elements of school life simulator and the, popular in Japan, visual novel genre. Graphics have been created using a new, original engine and feature a dark, though cartoonish, style.

The third installment in a hit video game series started in 2005 on PlayStation 2. Killzone 3 is a science-fiction FPS game developed - like the previous Killzone installments – by Guerilla Games. The game’s story takes place on a planet inhabited by the Helghast, where two characters known from the previous games, Sev and Rico, have to fight their way through the members of the enemy faction. In the background, the players will get to experience behind-the-scene schemes at the top of Helghan Administration and a coup that might bring about catastrophic consequence for both sides of the conflict. Killzone 3 features very diverse missions, in which a player is not limited to elimination of enemies all guns blazing – also, one gets to operate various vehicles, assume the stealth approach and take down enemies by surprise, as well as travel to an orbital station and shoot at enemies from a space fighter. A point-and-click adventure game created by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick. The players are taken to the titular Thimbleweed Park - once a prosperous business area, now definitely past its prime. The player takes on the roles of five characters in total throughout this adventure and is capable of switching between them at any time. The characters present are a stronger feature of this game - apart from others, the player assumes the role of Ransome - a clown suffering from a curse which makes him unable to get rid of his stage make-up. Franklin is another of the characters the player will be in control of in this game; one day, he (Franklin) discovers that he has died. The player will also assume control of two detectives investigating a case of a body found nearby; Dolores on the other hand, needs to read the testament of her rich uncle. When it comes to the story, the creators mixed a unique taste in humor with different possible endings. All of this is complemented by visuals modeled after LucasArts' classics, as well as an interface resembling the legendary SCUMM system.

A dynamic action game developed by French studio The Game Bakers. The title has a combat system based on Japanese hack-and-slash games. Furi takes place in an original fantasy realm and the player assumes the role of a warrior who tries to escape from a gigantic prison. Many guards are standing on his way and he must defeat them in order to obtain the keys to his freedom. The gameplay is focused on combat with the use of melee weapons and guns. The duel system is action-focused, offering a large number of varied attacks and the possibility to combine them into combos. What’s interesting, in the game the player doesn't have to fight many opponents at once. All fights are 1 on 1 encounters. Each opponent is a completely new character with unique abilities and fighting style. During the breaks between the fights the player will also explore. This will allow him to learn the history of the world and obtain valuable hints about the weak points of his opponents.

An episodic point-and-click adventure game, and the ninth major installment in the cult King’s Quest series, whose last part was released 17 years ago. This game was developed by The Odd Gentlemen (known for The Adventures of P.B. Winterbottom), while the development process was supervised by the original creators of the franchise from the reactivated Sierra Studios. The game’s story is built around a series of flashbacks. The player assumes the role of the old king Graham, who tells his granddaughter, Gwendolyn, of the fantastic adventures from his youth, which eventually led him to the throne of Daventry. Despite employing 3D graphics, the game mechanics takes after the classic installments in the series, focusing on exploration, dialogues, and puzzle solving. The game also features platform sequences, in which the hero has to jump over chasms and avoid various traps.

A humorous action-adventure game with strategy and cRPG features. The game was developed by Klei Entertainment, the creators of Shank and Mark of the Ninja. The main protagonist of Don’t Starve is Wilson, a Victorian gentleman scientist. The insidious demon Maxwell sends Wilson to the wild where he must use all of his knowledge and intelligence to survive among dangerous beasts. The player is tasked with helping the protagonist in his fight against the nature and the monsters – he must build a place to hide, obtain food, start a fire, produce tools etc. As the game progresses, one can unlock new playable characters, each with unique abilities. The game has unusual 2D graphics with cartoonish style and music that is pleasant to the ear.
